Bringing Together the Mental Health Voluntary Sector What is the Mental Health Forum? The Forum is an umbrella group of voluntary mental health organisations working in the City and County of Swansea. The Mental Health Development Service facilitates and supports the Forum and its members. The aims of the Forum are:
Participation - Promoting interagency co-operation. Responding to consultation documents. Maximising the voluntary sector's contribution to the planning and delivery of mental health services. Information – Sharing information on good practice and on a variety of mental health related issues. Producing a regular newsletter. Raising public awareness through displays, promotions and events. Training – Promoting quality training for voluntary and statutory organisations. Supporting users and carers – Supporting the development of user and carer initiatives. Promoting user/carer participation. Development - Identifying gaps in services Contributing to service development The Mental Health forum welcomes any voluntary sector group which provides a service to adults who may be experiencing mental health problems.
