Swansea Network of User Groups is based at Cwmbwrla Day Centre. It is an independent service user led and managed project.

SNUG’s aim “is to improve the quality of life for those people living in Swansea that suffer with Mental Health problems”.

This is achieved by:

  • Visiting each day service project in Swansea to liaise with service users.

  • Support service users to participate at any level they wish, whether it be at a personal level or on planning level.

  • Provide a forum where service users can meet from different projects to come and share information.

  • Training for service users in involvement.

  • Train professional in partnership with the Patients’ Council Cefn Coed.

  • Organise social events.

  • Information sharing, making sure relevant information is passed both ways – from the service user up to planning and from planning down to service users.

  • Hold pre meetings for the user and carer forum.

  • Support and lead Swansea User Focus Monitoring Group to monitor and review Day services in Swansea. Collate and feedback to CREATE Business
    Planning day.

  • Organise information days.

  • Liaise with the statutory sector on behalf of the service user.

  • Liaise with carers on joint issues.Be an active partner in CREATE
    Representing service user’s views.

  • Hold consultation events.

  • Provide volunteering opportunities.
